here a little, there a little

Conversion is a continuous and lifelong process. Conversions proceed layer by layer, relationship by relationship, here a little, there a little—until the whole personality, intellect, feeling and will have been recreated by God. ~John Westerhoff

awe and law

Psalm 19:7 (The Message)

The revelation of God is whole
    and pulls our lives together.

Psalm 19:7-9 (NRSV)

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    reviving the soul;
the decrees of the Lord are sure,
    making wise the simple;
the precepts of the Lord are right,
    rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is clear,
    enlightening the eyes;
the fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever;
the ordinances of the Lord are true
    and righteous altogether.

Pondering these two versions of the Psalm within the disciple frame of heart, soul, mind and strength, rendered this image.

why inspires

A TED talk by Simon Sinek inspired this page of notes.  He shared that those who lead, inspire, making sure “why” is communicated first, followed by “how,” then “what.”

While I placed most of his talk in the mind space of the labyrinth-looking disciple frame, you’ll note that heart, soul and strength come into play as well.

It was fascinating to reflect on Christian leadership as I listened to the talk.
