clay touched by God

Since when are tidiness and the presence of the sacred one in the same?

~Terry Hershey

Days pass and the years vanish
and we walk sightless among miracles.
Lord, fill our eyes with seeing
and our minds with knowing.
Let there be moments when your Presence,
like lightning, illumines the darkness in which we walk.
Help us to see, wherever we gaze,
that the bush burns, unconsumed.
And we, clay touched by God,
will reach out for holiness and exclaim in wonder,
“How filled with awe is this place and we did not know it.”
~Jewish Prayer

part of the mystery

We are created in the image of God, we come forth from God, and we will return to God.

We must find out what part of the mystery is ours to reflect.

~Richard Rohr

Warming up my markers for the Lenten journey that begins on Wednesday.  I’ll be journaling through the ELCA World Hunger’s 40 Days of Giving devotional,  http://elca.org/40days.
