love endures all things

I’m heading to Milwaukee today to be the Artist in Residence for the Greater Milwaukee Synod’s Theological Conference, Sept. 19-21. Pastors and church leaders will be working through material based on Brené Brown’s “Daring Greatly” book, an experience that will be facilitated by Rev. Sarah Ciavarri. I’ll be journaling images and beginning each session with a 10-minute centering reflection with an image. Theoretically, it sounds great… hoping it works in practice, too!

I’m reminded of some journaling images that were created (but never shared) the last time I was in Milwaukee with a new friend, Heather. Heather wrote a lovely book on retreats and one of the chapters was about a birch tree. You’ll be seeing birch trees over the next couple days as I get settled in Milwaukee.
